Ranil to make special statement in Parliament

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will make a special statement in Parliament on the 05th of November on Medium Term Economic Framework of the present Government, Cabinet Spokesperson and Parliament Reforms and Mass Media Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka said at the weekly Cabinet briefing held at the Government Information Department today.

Along with the budget, the Prime Minister is scheduled to present the present Government’s five-year plan to Parliament on November 5th.

Special attention will be focused on the Government’s future economic strategies as well as large scale investments Sri Lanka would secure.

The Prime Minister’s statement is also expected to focus more attention on the granting of much relief to the ordinary masses as well as improving infrastructure and construction.

This is the first time that the Government is presenting a consensual economic package taking into consideration the proposals of all parties. (Colombo Gazette)
