UN Assistant Secretary General to visit Lanka

B_6hI3WWcAA-1y8United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Miroslav Jenča, will be visiting Sri Lanka from 21 to 25 October.

The visit follows recent discussions between the Secretary-General and President Maithripala Sirisena on the margins of the General Assembly high-level meetings in New York.

The UN says Jenča’s visit will provide an opportunity for continued dialogue with Sri Lankan authorities and stakeholders, and will inform the longer term peacebuilding programme of the United Nations in support of Sri Lanka.

Jenča will also participate in the UN Day event in Colombo on 24 October to celebrate the twin milestones of the UN’s 70th anniversary and Sri Lanka’s 60th anniversary since becoming a Member State. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. We in SL, need to love one another, honour them, and build good relationships. we know that the essence and beauty of life is to love others. “Love rejoices when right and truth prevail” is a spiritual truth.

Truth is a guide, guardian teacher and a good companion, presrving any person from falsehood and blessing him with a truthful conscience.

Thr truth from his inner being progressively emancipates him from slavery to falsehood, enabling him to walk in goodness and truth.

Such a person will speak the truth and express with love, self restraint, patience, remorsefulness and peace.

And he will be a happy, fruitful and prosperous man; reconciled to the truth, with a relationship of love and peace with others.
