The trial-at-bar into the murder of former Presidential advisor Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra, began at the Colombo High Court today.
Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra’s daughter and Hirunika Premachandra, former Parliamentarian Duminda Silva and several others attended the hearing.
The Colombo High Court in August?fixed for today, the date to hear the case by a special trial-at-bar.
A request was earlier made to consider the case as special and appoint a trial-at-bar.
Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra was an advisor to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. He was killed along with his bodyguards during a shootout in October 2011.
Duminda Silva, a former Defence Ministry monitoring MP?was accused over the murder but he has denied the charges. (Colombo Gazette)
