Opposition and Tamil National Alliance (TNA) leader R Sampanthan says he will seek an explanation from?Northern Province Chief Minister C V Wigneswaran over some comments he had made which went against the stand of the TNA.
Sampanthan said that he had remained silent since the UN Human Rights Council was meeting in Geneva and Sri Lanka was being discussed.
However now that the UNHRC session is over Sampanthan said that he will look to meet?Wigneswaran and seek an explanation over the comments he had made.
Wigneswaran had refused to back the TNA at the last Parliamentary election despite the TNA playing a big role to make him the Northern Province Chief Minister.
C.V. Wigneswaran had also made comments critical of the party and had also contradicted the position the TNA took on the resolution on Sri Lanka submitted in Geneva. (Colombo Gazette)
