Army chief assures troops are disciplined

Army Commander Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva today assured that the troops in the Sri Lanka army are well disciplined and professional in their conduct.

Speaking to reporters after visiting the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy the army commander said that he will continue to ensure the army remains a disciplined unit.

The army will celebrate its 66th anniversary next month and a series of religious events are being held ahead of the main celebrations.

However the image of the army has been shrouded in controversy after a report released by the UN recently accused some troops of being involved in human rights abuses during the war. (Colombo Gazette)

Indictments filed against Diana Gamage

Fonseka not affected by empty venue during election rally

Presidential candidate, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka says he is not affected by the empty venues during his election rally. Videos have been circulated on social media showing an empty venue where Fonseka staged his election rally.
