EU, Government discuss GSP + restoration

The EU Ambassador to Sri Lanka David Daly paid a courtesy call on Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Harsha de Silva at the Ministry today and discussed matters relating to Sri Lanka’s application for the restoration of the GSP plus status, the Foreign Ministry said.

Sri Lanka lost the GSP plus trade concession from the EU when?the former Government was in power after it failed to meet the criteria to continue as a beneficiary.

However the new Government had reapplied for the concession and has made commitments to meet the required criteria. (Colombo Gazette)

Woman in Divulapitiya tests positive for coronavirus

The 39-year-old woman had been detected with the virus after being admitted to the Gampaha hospital.
