The United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances will visit Sri Lanka from 9 to 18 November.
The Working Group made the announcement at the UN Human Rights Council which is meeting for its 30th session in Geneva.
?We are very happy to announce the confirmation of our visit to Sri Lanka from 9 to 18 November? the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances said.
The Working Group had made several requests to visit Sri Lanka but the former Government did not agree on any dates.
The new Government however has agreed to allow the Working Group as well as other key UN agencies and officials to visit Sri Lanka. (Colombo Gazette)
