President Maithripala Sirisena hopes to have talks with US President Barack Obama in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly at the end of this month.
Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera said that during the talks with Obama and other world leaders, the President hopes to?promote the Sri Lankan soldiers for peacekeeping operations.
He also that the Government has invited the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein to visit Sri Lanka sometime next month as well as representatives from other UN agencies. (Colombo Gazette)
