Government confident of support in Geneva

WijedasaRajapakseThe Government is confident of obtaining support in Geneva at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapaksha said that the international community had placed its faith on the new Government following the Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

He said that he will be accompanying Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera to Geneva for talks with the international community.

Speaking to reporters in Kandy today, the Minister said that while in Geneva they will look to work on the proposed resolution seeking support for a domestic investigation on incidents related to the war.

The United States will cosponsor the resolution which will also seek to cushion the impact a UN report scheduled to be released in Geneva, will have on Sri Lanka. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. How can you kid yourself and also be satisfied that you would be able to hoodwink others. Where is your Conscious gone? You need to expose what is wrong as wrong, not cover it or sweep it under the carpet. If these Crimes against Humanity was carried out by your friend or foe you being a Minister of Justice cannot be Biased. Don’t try to fool the World, when so much information has already been disseminated. Wijadasa Rajapaske! Srilanka should have thought of its dignity before committing the Crime. No point crying or putting a bold face after the events. Be prepared to face the music. God will dish out the Natural Justice according to Karma.
