Court refuses to issue order against Go Home Gota protests

The court has refused to issue an order against the ‘Go Home Gota’ protests scheduled to take place on 8th and 9th July. Man in fuel queue dies on admission to hospital

A man waiting in a fuel queue has died on admission to hospital, the Police said. The Police said the 60-year-old man died on admission to a hospital after waiting in a fuel queue in Payagala. A resident of Moratuwa, the man died after a sudden illness. This week another man had died while waiting at a fuel station queue. The 60-year-old man had died at a fuel station queue in Borella. Woman at passport queue goes into labour

A woman standing in a queue at the Immigration and Emigration Department in Battaramulla went into labour today. The 26-year-old woman has been standing in the queue with her husband since last evening to obtain a passport. She was rushed to the Castle Street Maternity Hospital by female Army soldiers with the assistance of the employees at the Immigration and Emigration Department.
