The Chairman of the National Movement for a Just Society, the Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha Thero, today called on the public to ensure a peaceful end to the Parliamentary elections.
He urged voters and political party members and their supporters to accept victory and defeat in a peaceful manner and help build the country after the election.
The Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha Thero expressed these views after meeting Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya today.
He said that the 2015 Parliamentary election has so far been very peaceful with very few incidents of violence or election law violations reported.
The Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha Thero said that the election taking place tomorrow is also the beginning to an important journey in the future of the country.
He also praised the efforts taken by the Elections Commissioner to ensure a peaceful and free and fair election. (Colombo Gazette)
