Court extends order preventing SLFP CC meeting

The Colombo District Court today extended an enjoining order preventing?the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) from convening a Central Committee (CC) meeting without the permission of the head of the party.

The District Court of Colombo had earlier issued the order on July 15 till today based on a petition filed by Sri Lanka Freedom Party member Prasanna Solangaarachchi.

When the case was heard today the Court extended the?enjoining order till August 7.

President Maithripala Sirisena is the head of the SLFP and he had opposed an attempt by the SLFP General Secretary Anura Priyadharshana Yapa to convene a special SLFP Central Working Committee meeting on July 15. (Colombo Gazette)
