List of 18 inmates on death row submitted to Justice Ministry

A list of 18 inmates on death row has been submitted to the Justice Ministry as the Government looks to implement the death sentence on them. The inmates had been sentenced to death over drug related offences and have been serving life in prison as the death sentence was not implemented in Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, it was reported that the application for the post of an executioner will called for from next week. (Colombo Gazette)

China is offering more facilities to draw Sri Lankan tourists,?China’s state owned Xinhua News Agency reported on Sunday. Chief of Consular Department of Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka, Wang Keqi briefed local travel agents on the different visa procedures in order to facilitate more tourists to visit China.
