Police probe attack on Borella mosque

31 May, 2015

The police are investigating an attack on a mosque in Borella last night.

Stones had been thrown towards the mosque damaging glass and other property of the building.

The police media unit said that so far indications were that the attack was over a dispute a group had with the mosque authorities.

The authorities at the mosque reportedly had in their possession CCTV footage of a robbery which occurred at a building nearby and a group had requested for the footage.

The?mosque authorities had however not given the footage and this was believed to have had led to the attack on the mosque last night. (Colombo Gazette)
