Canadian delegation in the north

A Canadian delegation visited north on a fact finding mission where they also had talks with the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) on the upcoming elections.
The delegation from the Canadian embassy visited Jaffna and Killinochchi and had talks with political parties and civil society members.
The Canadians also visited the Uthayan newspaper office in Jaffna and had talks with the management and Editor.
In Kilonochchi, the Canadian delegation met TNA Chief Ministerial candidate C.V. Wigneswaran and other TNA members.
The TNA had alleged that their party members face abuse at the hands of the military in the North. (Colombo Gazette)
