Court orders Royal Institute Nugegoda to be demolished

The Supreme Court has issued an order to demolish the Nugegoda branch of the Royal Institute. According to reports, the Supreme Court today issued the order to the Urban Development Authority (UDA) after 16 petitions were submitted to court against the institute by area residents. The court found that the Royal Institute International School at Chapel Road in Nugegoda was constructed at the location illegally. Supplementary estimates submitted for two defeated Ministries

The Government today presented a supplementary estimate to cover the expenses of the two Ministries of which the expenditure heads were defeated in Parliament last week during the committee stage debate of the 2019 budget. The expenditure heads of the Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government were defeated in Parliament last week.
