CMC officers to be interdicted

Four officers of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) are to be interdicted over the burning of CMC files at the Borella cemetery, Colombo Mayor A.J.M Muzzamil said.
The Mayor said that while the police are investigating the incident he had requested Chandrani Samarakoon,?Commissioner of Local Government (Western Province), to interdict the four officers which includes a female officer.
Over 6000 CMC files and documents were set on fire at the?Borella cemetery last Saturday but some of them were recovered after the Mayor and other officials received a tip-off.
Some of the files were believed to have contained details about an errant CMC officer. (Colombo Gazette)
