Sri Lanka has promised to back Nigeria?for a non-permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council, Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan said.
The Nigerian President after meeting the new High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Nigeria, Anura Liyanage, at the State House.
During his meeting with the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, President Jonathan extended appreciation to President Mahinda Rajapaksa for pledging to support Nigeria?s quest for a non-permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council.
Liyanage said the President of Sri Lanka looked forward to welcoming President Jonathan at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) which will be hosted by Sri Lanka in November. (Colombo Gazette)
