Over 60 pre-polls violations

The Department of Elections has recorded over 60 polls related violations so far, the elections department said.
According to the election violations monitoring secretariat at the?Department of Elections, 68 pre-polls related violations have been reported so far.
Of this there were incidents related to election violence reported from the Central and North Western provinces.
Most incidents reported however were related to the misuse of government property ahead of the elections, ?the?Department of Elections said. (Colombo Gazette)

Woman and her two children murdered in Trinco

A woman and her two children were murdered in Trincomalee, the police media unit said. The police said the husband of the woman was arrested on suspicion of committing the crime. The bodies of the 32 year old woman and her 8 and 10 year old children were found in their house this morning. (Colombo Gazette)
