WPC, two others interdicted

A Woman Police Constable (WPC) and two policemen attached to the Borellesgamuwa police station have been interdicted.
They were interdicted on the orders of IGP N.K. Illangakoon, police sources told the Colombo Gazette.
The?Borellesgamuwa police had arrested a woman yesterday over an offence and detained her at the Borellesgamuwa police station.
However the suspect had managed to escape from the police station last evening undetected.
As a result the IGP had ordered the three police constables to be interdicted pending an investigation. (Colombo Gazette)

Six Indian fishermen arrested by navy

Six fishermen from the?Pudukottai district in Tamil Nadu, India were arrested by the Sri Lankan navy while they were fishing near the Sri Lankan coast, authorities said on Sunday.
