The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) says it is carrying out tests on a consignment of imported fuel after an initial test had found that it was substandard.
CPC Managing Director L.E. Susantha Silva said that the fuel consignment has not yet been rejected as another test is to be carried out.
He said that 25,000MT of Octane 90 petrol, 5000MT of Octane 95 petrol and 10,000MT of diesel were in the imported fuel consignment.
The first test had found that the fuel had a small amount of contamination and as a result a second test is to be carried out.
Silva said that a third test will also be carried out following which a decision will be taken if to reject or approve the consignment. (Colombo Gazette)
