The police have busted a mobile brothel operating in the Mount Lavinia area, the police media unit said today.
The police said that eight people were arrested when the operation was busted last night.
According to the police, a special police unit had made the arrests at Saram Road ?in Mount Lavinia after receiving information about the brothel.
The police arrested four women used for prostitution and four others who were involved in the business.
The women are aged between 23 and 30 and are residents of Kundasale, Peradeniya, Nivithigala and Dankotuwa.
Investigations had revealed that a car and three-wheeler had been used to transport the women and get them clients.
All the suspects are to be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate today.
