Indian fishermen arrested

The navy arrested eight fishermen off Mannar while poaching in Sri Lankan waters late last night, the police media unit said today.
A navy unit of the Thalaimannar naval base arrested the fishermen and also seized two trawlers.
The Indians were handed over to the Thalaimannar police for further investigations.
The police said that the two trawlers have been kept safely with the navy.
The Indian fishermen are to be produced before the Mannar Magistrate today. (Colombo Gazette)
