Indonesian police arrest 43 Lankans

The police in West Java, Indonesia arrested?43 illegal immigrants from Sri Lanka today.
They were arrested after being detected at the Sindangbarang highway in South Cianjur, Antara News reported.
The illegal immigrants chose the road via South Cianjur to the southern coast of Java from which they planned to cross to their final destination Australia`s Christmas Island.
The illegal immigrants would be handed over to immigration authorities in Sukabumi.
Earlier in the day Indonesian police?detained more than 100 illegal immigrant in Cianjur, West Java , on the highway leading to the southern coast of Java.
Police detective Adj Comr. Gito of the Cianjur police said the first group of 80 illegal immigrants from Maynmar, Pakistan, and Afghanistan were stopped in the Cianjur-Bandung highway.
They uses a truck and five minibuses, Gito said.
They were stopped after police officers saw their cars with suspicious foreign passengers, he said.
