Police look for abandoned child’s mother
04 Jun, 2013
The police has sought public assistance to locate the mother of a child found abandoned at the private bus stand at Bastian Mawatha in Pettah.
The children?s court in Battaramulla had ordered the police to publish the picture of the child in the media and seek public assistance to trace the mother.
The child had been found abandoned in March and was taken to a children?s home in Panadura on the instructions of the children?s court.
The court has now ordered that public assistance be sought to trace the parents or relatives of the child.
The male child is approximately five months old, the police said. (Colombo Gazette)?
