Students of a leading school in Maradana grabbed a video correspondent of Hiru Television and took his camera when he went to video an incident at the school.
According to journalists from Hiru TV, the students had later returned the video camera after erasing the video footage taken by the cameraman.
The cameraman had gone to the school to look into reports that the students were protesting in the school and lighting firecrackers.
When the cameraman had gone there, he was refused permission to enter the premises. He however then took footage of the school from outside.
The students, who saw the cameraman taking the footage, grabbed him and took him inside and took his camera and then erased the footage before returning the equipment. (Colombo Gazette)
