Northern polls likely on September 7

The Northern Provincial Council election is likely to take place on September 7, the Uythayan newspaper?quoted?well informed?sources?as saying.
The newspaper?quoted?a government source as saying that just prior to the election the government will formally establish the northern provincial council.
Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya is expected to be informed about the establishment of the northern?provincial?council and the holding of elections in September, the report said.
