The wife and child of terror ring leader Mohommad Zaharan Hashim is among the people rescued during a military operation in Kalmunai on Friday night. Expensive gemstones found in Dematagoda house

Expensive gemstones were found in the house in Dematagoda where suspected pro-Islamic State members exploded bombs last Sunday. The Criminal Investigations Department found three gemstones worth more than Rs. 30 million from the house, the Police said. The Police said that Rs. 15 million in cash and Rs. 500,000 worth of foreign currency bills and jewellery were also found in the luxurious house.
