Suspect arrested after 15 years

A suspect has been arrested over a theft he committed?15 years ago in Dimbulagala, the police media unit said today.
The police said that the suspect, who was 25 years at the time he?committed?the crime, is now 40 and had a?warrant for his arrest.
He was accused of breaking into a Temple and stealing a statue, the police media unit said.
A court had in 2011 ordered that he be arrested and given?rigorous?imprisonment?for 6 months plus be charged a fine of Rs. 50,000.
The suspect was arrested yesterday in Kandy, produced before a Magistrate and remanded. (Colombo Gazette)

Remains of journalist Lasantha Wickrematunge exhumed

The remains of slain newspaper editor Lasantha Wickrematunge were exhumed today to conduct a fresh investigation over his murder, seven years after he was killed. His remains?were?exhumed at the Borella burial?grounds in the presence of a Magistrate and under tight security.
