Four including Chinese man killed in accident

Four people including a Chinese national and two policemen were killed in an accident in Athurugiriya this morning.

Police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that a police night patrol vehicle had met with the accident on a highway under construction.

The vehicle, which was placed to protect the new highway under construction in Athurugiriya, veered off the road and fell into a ditch.

Two policemen who were in the vehicle as well as a Chinese national and the driver of the vehicle were killed in the accident.

The bodies of the victims were taken to the Homagama hospital. Further investigations are underway.

Police receive 21 complaints against Bathiudeen, Hizbullah, Salley

The Police have received 21 complaints against former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen and former Governors M.L.A.M. Hizbullah and Azath Salley. A special committee had been established at the Police Headquarters to receive complaints against Bathiudeen, Hizbullah and Salley. The deadline to submit complaints expired today and 21 complaints had been received of which 11 were against Bathiudeen.

EU envoys meet PM and discuss concerns

Ambassadors of European Union countries based in Sri Lanka called on Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today and discussed some concerns.
