Fonseka said that he will be making a full statement regarding the controversy that had arisen over the next couple of days.
There were reports today to the effect that Alles had resigned from the DNP and had handed over his resignation letter to Fonseka.
When contacted by the Colombo Gazette earlier DNA General Secretary Vijitha Herath said that Alles has not resigned from the DNA alliance.
However he could not comment on reports that Alles had resigned from the Democratic Party.
There is also strong speculation that Alles will leave the DNP to join the government.
