Only two voters in Manthivu

06 Sep, 2012

Only two voters are registered to cast their votes at the Manthivu polling center in the Batticaloa district, elections officials said.

With just two registered voters the Manthivu polling center will be among the smallest polling centers at the upcoming provincial council polls.

Manthivu is an island most noted for people living with leprosy. The ballot boxes will be taken by boat to the island for the two registered voters to cast their votes.

Electing for three provinces including the eastern province will take place on Saturday. (Colombo Gazette)
