Silva to file case on Hirunika

Lawyers appearing on behalf of parliamentarian Duminda Silva, informed court today that they will file legal action against Hirunika Premachandra for making a statement defamatory to court.

Silva?s lawyer said that Hirunika Premachandra had recently broken coconuts in public and later made a statement saying she will seek divine help for court to issue a warrant to arrest Duminds Silva.

The lawyer said that the statement was defamatory to court and legal action will be taken against her.

Meanwhile the judge appearing for the case said that the CID has so far not said that they cannot arrest Silva and so a warrant is not required.

The judge also gave permission for lawyers to represent Silva in the case over the murder of politician Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra.

UK based Sri Lankan demands Rs 1.7 million ransom from woman

A UK based Sri Lankan has demanded Rs 1.7 million in ransom from a woman after threatening to release her photographs on social media.
